One idea that was being floated around as a feature film was Magnum returning to the navy and his subsequent adventures. Universal studios even hired famed writer Tom Clancy to write a script, but in the end felt that it wouldn’t be a big enough draw at the box office.
ABC is currently working on a sequel, Magnum, about Magnum’s daughter Lily taking over her father’s P.I. firm. The character of Lily was introduced as a child in the original series.
