Patti Smith was an influential singer in the New York City punk rock movement. In 1975 she debuted her album Horses. In 2004, Smith released an album that was a tribute to motherhood.
In 2007, Patti Smith was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Smith has continued to sing and write and release music. She recently recorded the song Capitol Letter for the official soundtrack of the second film of the Hunger Games-series The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
