Lisa began her career at the age of 12 in The New Mickey Mouse Club. In 1979, she got a major role in The Facts of Life. The show ended in 1988 after 200 episodes. She earned a Grammy nomination for her role in All Because of You in 1984.
Today she is a motivational speaker and is a regular speaker at conferences such as Women of Faith. She promotes faith as well as her numerous books on parenting, life and prayer.

After the 80’s, McCarthy moved towards television, appearing in shows like Lipstick Jungle, White Collar, and Royal Pains.
