It seemed she was having a big comeback in 1995 when she scored her own sitcom, Can’t Hurry Love. Unfortunately it only lasted one season. False hopes graced her again as she was given the starring role in the 1998 sitcom, Style and Substance. This sitcom would suffer the same fate as the prior and be cancelled only after nine months. The whole 1990’s seemed like a dark patch on her career, but the 2000’s would bring hope.
I 2001 she scored a leading role on the Lifetime original show, The Division. For four seasons she played a tough inspector named Jinny Exstead. When that show came to an end she did an number of TV movies. Her latest role was in 2011’s Love Begins. As of today, Nancy McKeon is residing in Austin, Texas with her husband and two daughters.
Most will remember Charlotte Rae as Edna Garrett, the the lovable housekeeper on Diff’rent Strokes and the housemother on the spin off show, The Facts of Life. The role of Edna Garrett is no doubt the highlight of Charlotte Rae’s long career, but she wasn’t limited to the role. She also had parts in classics such as Hairspray, the Woody Allen film, Bananas and 1978 classic, Rabbit Test.
Although Charlotte Rae is already in her 90’s, her career is still trudging along. She isn’t exactly popping out a movie every year, but she was recently in 2015’s Ricki and the Flash. In 2014 she was on the Boy Meets World spin off show, Girl Meets World and she even had a part in 2008’s Don’t Mess With The Zohan. On a more unfortunate note, she was recently diagnosed with bone cancer.
Cohn’s career began when she was discovered by actress Charlotte Rae and the producers of the show Facts of Life on their talent hunt in California. She was immediately cast as Natalie in the show and stayed with the show until it ended; she even appeared in the reunion movie of the same name in 2011.
