Nancy Kerrigan was one of the most famous figure skater in the 90’s who won third place in the prestigious Olympic Games in 1992 and second place in 1994 Olympics. Unfortunately, her career came to a sudden halt in late 1994 as she was attacked by her opponent Tonya Harding and had to withdraw from the U.S. championship due to her knee injury. When the world found out about the truth behind the attack orchestrated by Tonya and her ex-husband, Harding had her second national title taken away from her and was fined $160,000.
Despite her opponent’s efforts to knock Nancy out of the skating competition in 1994, Nancy Kerrigan returned to the national games soon although the American figure-skating sport has declined immensely in popularity over the past few decades. In 2010 Kerrigan continued to be part of the Olympic Games, this time only as a correspondent. She has also been part of the show Halloween on Ice as a skating performer for the past few years.
Michael Caine whose first acclaimed role was as agent Harry Palmer in 1965’s The Ipcress File went on to act in films like Alfie, Hannah and Her Sisters and the latest Batman incarnations. He went on to star in The Cider House Rules, based on the John Irving novel for which he earned his second Academy Award. After developing a strong friendship with director Christopher Nolan, and Caine would go on to appear in several of Nolan’s blockbuster films, including Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Inception (2010) and Interstellar (2014).
