Frank Sinatra really enjoyed his short appearance on Magnum P.I. and especially enjoyed working with Tom Selleck. Sinatra even revealed he intended on co-starring with Selleck in a big screen buddy-comedy. Unfortunately, it never happened.
During the opening credits, there was a shot of T.C with a bottle of beer, however, T.C was supposed to be tee total from season one.
Higgins’ full name was Jonathan Quayle Higgins III.
There were a few recurring characters throughout the series, but the one with the most appearances was Higgins’ friend Agatha Chumley, who was played by Gillian Dobb. Interestingly, Gillian had no professional acting experience apart from Magnum P.I.
The gun that Magnum used throughout the show was a Government model Colt 1911 A1 .45 cal. pistol. This gun was the standard issue sidearm during the Vietnam war so it makes sense that Magnum would carry a weapon like this from his days in the Navy.
