Getting married is one of the happiest occasions people experience, but getting a divorce? Not so much. Additionally, a divorce can turn into a vicious conflict between a person and his soon to be ex-spouse, and most of the time, it doesn’t end too nicely, for one of them at the least. In most cases, divorce causes huge financial arguments, as in who gets what and who gets the most out of the bargain.

People seemed to know that Guy Ritchie and Madonna were done for before they even filed for divorce in 2008 after 8 years of marriage. Remember the rumors of Madonna having an affair with Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees? Whether or not that was actually the cause of their divorce, it wasn’t going to be a pretty one. They had shared custody of their two kids, but their oldest son, Rocco refused to live with his mother which caused some problems.

Since they didn’t have a prenup, Madonna ended up receiving $92 million and yet, Ritchie still said that he didn’t regret marrying the diva.
The former Beatles star’s wedding to model Heather Mills cost $3.2 million. However, six years later, Paul McCartney had to pay a hefty sum; a lot more to get out of the tumultuous marriage. People Magazine reported that Mills received $48.6 million from Paul in the settlement.

Justice Bennett who was involved in the proceedings, claimed that Paul ”expressed himself moderately, though at times with justifiable irritation, if not anger” during the process. The report consisted of intimate details of the couple’s relationship, including the Mills’ miscarriage in the first year of their marriage, prior to giving birth to their daughter, Beatrice.
Michael and his ex-spouse Juanita were married for 17 happy and loving years, but every now and then even good things come to a stop, and so did their marriage. They formally divorced in 2006. The couple almost broke up in 2002, however they were determined to give each other another shot, which turned out to be a big fat waste of time.

Michael ended up paying Juanita $168 million dollars in their divorce settlement, which was paid in dollars, property and other things. It also included their 7-acre property in Chicago and custody of their three kids.
Roman Abramovich, the owner of the British Chelsea FC, and his ex-wife Irina broke up in 2007. At the time, Abramovich was listed 16th on Forbes richest people list. Everyone was sure she would get at the least $18.7 billion dollars of his fortune, half of his net worth.

In the long run, Irina most effectively got $300 million dollars (?!) that included cash, mansions in Britain and Moscow, a yacht and a private plane. She could have asked for her 50% as that’s what she is entitled to in accordance the Russian law, but she in no way even attempted to do so.
