Linwood Boomer is another Little House alum whose made his biggest splash behind the camera. Following the end of his run as the blind Adam Kendall, he worked on shows including Night Court, Silver Spoons, and 3rd Rock From the Sun.
Jonathan Gilbert, star Melissa’s adopted brother, played Willie Oleson on Little House, but gave up on acting directly after. Instead, he became a stockbroker in New York.
His run as Jonathan on Little House was a small part of Ernest Borgnine’s over 60-year career in show business. Over the course of that career, he had iconic roles in films like From Here to Eternity, and Marty as well as starring on the classic sitcom McHale’s Navy. His final major part, voicing the Mermaid Man on Spongebob Squarepants, gave him notoriety amongst a whole new generation. He was on the show 1999 until his death in 2012.
Arngrim’s character Nelly may have been known for her devious ways, but the actress has dedicated her post-Little House life to helping people. After she wrote a book detailing the sexual abuse she endured as a child, Arngrim has gone on to help others who’ve gone through the same thing.
Twins Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush teamed up to play the single character Carrie Ingalls throughout the show’s run. Following the the end of the series they retired from acting. Lindsay eventually married a man she had first met on the Little House set and reconnected with years later. Sidney had also married previously, but her husband committed suicide in 2009.
