Connie Rubirosa, played by Alana De La Garza, appeared on 3 different Law and Order series: “Law&Order,” “SVU,” and “Law&Order: LA.” Rubirosa worked as Assistant District Attorney to Michael Cutter. Since last appearing on “Law&Order: Special Victims Unit,” in 2014, she had recurring roles on the TV shows “Forever” and “Scorpion.” Most recently, in 2016, De La Garza appeared alongside Gary Sinise, as Clara Seger in “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.”
Second in command, at the Special Victims Unit, was Sergeant Michael Dodds. He was transferred to SVU by his father, Deputy Chief William Dodds, after Olivia Benson was promoted. Mike Dodds is played by Andy Karl. Karl’s character was killed on “SVU” at the end of season 17. No longer working on the show, Karl is expected to make a return to the stage. He will appear on Broadway, in 2017, as the starring role in “Groundhog Hog.”
Selenis Leyva played Detective Mariluz Rivers on “Law&Order” and “Law&Order: Criminal Intent.” Detective Rivera worked in the homicide department and usually assisted the over main detectives by passing on information to them. Since her last appearance on “Criminal Intent,” in 2011, Leyva has done pretty well for herself in Hollywood. Her most recent, and most popular performance is on the hit Netflix series “Orange in the New Black,” as Gloria Mendoza.
Tony Profaci’s partner, Detective Morris LaMotte was played by Larry Clarke from 1997-2000 on seasons 9 and 10. However, he is mentioned in season 20 during a conversation of Rey Curtis to Anita Van Buren. “Law&Order,” was only the beginning for Larry Clarke. His career took off from the show. He has appeared in other various crime thrillers such as “Cold Case,” “CSI,” and “Criminal Minds.” In 2017, he is expected to appear in the rom-com “You&Me,” as well as on an episode of “Twin Peaks.”
The insulting psychiatrist, Dr. Emil Skoda, was played by J.K. Simmons. He normally testified as an expert witness. J.K. Simmons is more well-known now, than he was during his “Law&Order” days. He has had many, many roles, including his part of J. Jonah Jameson in multiple Marvel movies and Bill, in the critically acclaimed movie “La La Land,” with Emma Stone. However, he recently made headlines for buffing up for his performance in the upcoming “Justice League.”
