#61. Dolly Parton- Then

The little woman with the big hair and even bigger…voice, Dolly has had 25 number one songs on the country Billboard charts. After graduating high school in 1964, Parton moved to Nashville and signed a contract with Combine Publishing where she wrote several top ten hits. Parton climbed to more fame in 1967 as a singer on Porter Wagoner’s weekly TV show. In 1980, she landed the role of a lifetime in the film 9 to 5 and even wrote the movie’s theme song “9 to 5”. The song reached No. 1 on the country, adult contemporary, and the pop chart giving her a triple hit and making her the only female country singer to have a number 1 single on all three charts at once!

#62. Dolly Parton- Now

Still performing, Dolly has released a total of 42 studio albums over the course of her career. Fun fact, she is the godmother of singer and actress Miley Cyrus! Parton is also no stranger to television, as she’s guest starred on many hit shows and even served as a guest judge on American Idol. If you still haven’t had enough Dolly, there’s great news - she recently announced that she’s going on a national tour to promote her new album titled Pure&Simple.

#63. Jane Fonda- Then

From Broadway to Hollywood, even to the living rooms of countless Americans who loved her fitness videos - Jane has been everywhere! Fonda made her debut in the Broadway production of There Was a Little Girl, and she received two Tony Award nominations for her performance. After she released first exercise video, Jane Fonda’s Workout, people couldn’t get enough of it and it became the best-selling video of all time, with more than 17 million copies sold.  Fonda also got political as an activist for women during the Vietnam War.

#64. Jane Fonda- Now

After a 15 year hiatus from the film industry, Fonda came out of retirement with a bang starring in 2005 family comedy Monster-in-Law.  She also returned to Broadway and landed the part of Katherine Brandt in the play 33 Variations, for which she received a Tony nomination. In 2012, Fonda got back into the world of TV after being given a lead role in the Netflix series Grace and Frankie. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Jane has also been busy as an activist in recent years. She is personally invested in matters of Feminism, Native American rights, and Environmentalism.

#65. Mary Tyler Moore - Then

Mary Tyler Moore’s fame reached it’s peak in the 70s with the hit sitcom, The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She was then nominated for her role in the 1980s film, Ordinary People.
